With hearts full of love and memories, we announce the passing of Fran Floyd, who departed this life on August 16, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on April 20, 1945, Fran’s journey through life was marked by kindness, faith, and unfailing devotion to her family and community.
Fran grew up with a sense of determination and compassion, qualities that guided her throughout her life. In 1963, she proudly graduated from Ponce de Leon High School, setting a foundation for lifelong learning and service. Guided by her strong Baptist faith, Fran approached every chapter of life with grace and resilience.
One of Fran’s most notable contributions to her community was the warm and welcoming environment she cultivated at Morris and Fran’s Country Store, which she owned and operated alongside her beloved husband, Morris, for over 26 years in the Valley View Community. The store was more than a business—it was a gathering place where neighbors became friends, and laughter and stories were shared daily. Fran’s generosity of spirit and hospitality touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on all who entered.
Family was the heart of Fran’s world. She was a devoted wife to Morris, whose memory she cherished deeply. As a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she filled her home with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. Her children—Alex Floyd (Donna), Nikki Lawniczak (Chet), Hank Floyd (Jean), and Tracy Chamberlain (D’ette)—carry forward her legacy of compassion, faith, and perseverance. Her grandchildren—Derek Floyd (Lacey), Kayli Steele (Chris), Tyler Lawniczak (Chloe), Nicole Harris, Zachary Floyd, Dalton Chamberlain, Peyton Peoples (Kendrick), Marissa Andrews, and Kelly Slaughter (Roger)—brought her endless pride and joy, while her great-grandchildren—Buddy, Kinlee, Casen, Audrey, Silas, Brionna, Nolan, Rollin, Mason, Dylan, and Cierra—delighted her in her later years.
Fran also leaves behind her loving brother Ed Bradley and sister Dianne Johnson. Her warmth extended to her sister-in-law, Lillie Abbott (Chris), and many cherished nieces and nephews, Sheila, Katrina, Sean and Rene. The bonds Fran created continue to live on, woven tightly into the fabric of her family.
She is preceded in death by her father, Cephus Bradley; her mother, Barttie Hanks Bradley; her cherished husband, Morris Floyd; and her brothers, John and Troy Bradley. Though they are no longer with us, their love for Fran and her love for them remains ever-present in the hearts of those who knew them.
Those who knew Fran will recall her quick wit, her love for playing slot machines, and, above all, her devotion to simply being with her family. Every gathering was brighter with her laughter, every meal made richer by her presence.
To have known Fran Floyd was to experience a rare and genuine kindness. Her steadfast support, her caring nature, and the joy she brought to every occasion will be deeply missed. As her family and friends mourn her passing, they also celebrate the profound impact she had on their lives—a legacy that will shine for generations to come.
