Mrs. Flossie Dell Holmes,  age 89, passed away Friday, January 2, 2026. She was born on March 11, 1936 in Holmes County, Florida to Alcus and Myrtle Harrison Slaughter.  Mrs.  Holmes was raised in the Leonia Community also lived in Prosperity and moved to Panama City, Florida in 1979. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting, making flower arrangements, cooking and fishing at Howards Creek. She owned and operated her own florist.  Mrs. Holmes was preceded in death by her parents, husband Rex Holmes and granddaughter, Rochelle Holmes, brother, Ralph Slaughter, sisters, Marie Harrell,  Margaret Mixon and son-in-law, David Stanton. Mrs. Holmes is survived by her son, Rex "Ricky" E. Holmes and wife Teresa of Panama City, Florida, daughters; Elaine Stafford and husband Mike of Westville, Florida and Peggy Hunt and husband Jim of Panama City, Florida; brothers, William "Bill" Slaughter of Westville, Florida, grandchildren; Retessa Holmes Smith and husband Chris, Heath Holmes, Casey Stafford and wife Maranda, Kisha Stafford Green and husband Andrew, Tara Stanton Martin and husband Justin, and Michael Stanton and wife Ashley; great grandchildren, Colten, Carter, Cason, Dansby, Emery, Alyssia and husband Zeke, Paige and Ciara, and great great grandchildren, Samson and Solomon.

A time of visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM, Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Hickory Hill Baptist Church; 1656 Hickory Hill Road, Westville, Florida 32464. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Hickory Hill Baptist Church, with Reverend Joel Glenn officiating. Flowers are being accepted. Pallbearers will be Casey Stafford, Andrew Green, Heath Holmes, Chris Smith, Justin Martin and Colten Smith. Burial will be held at Hickory Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
