Eric Robert White, 64, of Santa Rosa Beach, FL passed away August 21, 2025. He was born March 2, 1961 in South Carolina to the late Master Sergeant John Granville White, Jr (USAF) and Mary Frances Schoonover White.

Mr. White was the beloved husband of Melissa Irby White. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister Sharon Compton (Dellis), brother Chris White (Anita), two nieces and a nephew, plus several great-nieces and nephews. As a member of a military family Eric grew up in different parts of the U.S.A. as well as several different countries. Eric graduated from high school in Madison, Virginia, and then earned degrees from the University of Virginia, the College of William and Mary, and Johns Hopkins University. He enjoyed a successful career in computer science and software engineering in Austin, Texas, where his work resulted in a number of patents. In addition, he volunteered for several years with the Texas State Guard, ending his service with the rank of Major. After retiring to the Florida Gulf Coast, he found a passion for writing, authoring several books and award-winning screenplays. One of the greatest joys of Eric's life was his beagles, Greta (deceased), Spencer (deceased), Abbie and Lainey. He and Melissa also fostered many beagles with Hound Rescue of Central Texas.
