Mrs. Emma Lou Birdwell, age 77, gained her wings, Friday, April 18, 2025 in Ft. Walton Beach.   She was born June 29, 1947 in Laurel Hill, Florida to Marvin and Lillie Belle Turner Mount.

Emmie, as most people called her, was known for her unconditional love for her family and friends. Her strong work ethic was evident in her many years of committed service as a house cleaner, where she took great pride in her work. She was Baptist by faith.

Mrs. Birdwell was preceded in death by her parents, her devoted husband, Robert E. Birdwell, sisters , Annie Sue Trammell and Juanita Mount,  four brothers, Floyd Mount, Jesse Mount, W.L. Mount and Willard Mount.

Mrs.  Birdwell is survived by her two sons, Timothy Ray Jones of  Florida and Kenneth Jones and wife Brittin of Westville, Florida; one sister, Betty M. Baxley. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM, Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; with Reverend Wilbur Williams officiating.

Flowers are being accepted.

Pallbearers will be James Miller, David Coon, Brandon Melson, Anthony Windham, Kevin Saunders, and Tony Sunday.

Burial will be held at  Gum Creek Cemetery.
