Mrs. Elsie Merle Carroll, age 69, passed away December 26, 2023.  She was born on February 24, 1954 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida to Jewel Pryor Clark and Samuel B Clark.

Mrs. Carroll was a resident of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. She worked as a seamstress her entire life. She was married for 27 years to her late husband James Carroll. She enjoyed baking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a friend to many, always giving of her time and love to those in need.

Mrs. Carroll was preceded in death by her father Samuel Clark, mother and step-father Jewel and Joe Walker, husband James Carroll, brothers Ronnie Samuel and Alvis Clark, and sister Sheila Kemp Clark.

Mrs. Carroll is survived by her children Marie Carroll and husband Michael, and Daphne Skanes and husband Anthony; grandchildren Jamie Carroll, Jocelyn Vickers, Lane Carroll (and girlfriend Averi Laird); sisters Sandra Miller and Marilyn Rogers; several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also anticipating the arrival of her first great-grandson in April 2024.

A time of visitation will be held from 6:00- 8:00 PM, Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 29, 2023 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; with Reverend Terry Smith, Reverend Rodd Jones and Reverend Joel Glenn officiating.

Flowers are being accepted.

Burial will be held at Darlington Baptist Church Cemetery.
