Edward John
Mazzolini
Aug 15, 1929 — Feb 23, 2021
Edward John Mazzolini passed away after 91 years of a beautiful life.
A first-generation Italian American, he graduated from Cathedral Latin High School in Cleveland, Ohio. As an altar boy growing up, he was Catholic by faith, and a long-time, active parishioner of Saint Rita's Catholic Church in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, where he shared his business knowledge as a member of the church finance committee.
He was a proud veteran who served his country in the United States Army as a Corporal during the Korean Conflict. Upon return, Ed graduated from Youngstown State University receiving his bachelor's degree in Business.
This consummate gentleman found his beloved bride of 66 years, Ursula Ann "Deedee", when they met while working together at U.S. Plywood. His professional career continued in the Building Products Industry included stops at Champion International, International Paper and Georgia-Pacific. Upon retirement, Ed and Deedee settled in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida and have been residents for over 24 years.
He loved baseball, horse racing, Zorro and his sweets. Family was everything to him. His 12 grandchildren brought him so much joy and he lit up every time he saw them. They remember his warm and welcoming " Bellissima " as well as his classic advice giving like "stand up tall, shoulders back, be proud of your height". He was "Italian stallion handsome" to the end and no one believed his true age.
Ed was preceded in death by his son Robert "Bobby" John Mazzolini as well as his parents Adelmo and Lorenzina Rocchiccioli Mazzolini and sister Eva Marie Mazzolini.
Ed is survived by his wife Ursula Ann Mazzolini of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; children Edward Mazzolini (Cindy) of Cumming, Georgia, Katherine Boggs (Patrick), of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, Laura Landstreet (Thomas) of Nashville, Tennessee, Molly Mazzolini (Jason Foster) of Salt Lake City, Utah; grandchildren Kelly Mazzolini, Paige Mazzolini, Marshall Mazzolini, Beau Boggs (Alex), Anna Fleming (Peter), Katherine Boggs, Fairfax Landstreet, Eva Landstreet, Edward Landstreet, Bronson Foster, Franco Foster and Renzo Foster.
Due to coronavirus concerns, the services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Emerald Coast Hospice or Caring and Sharing of South Walton
