Obituary for Edward Glenn Black, Sr.

Left his earthly body and reclaimed his place in the Kingdom of Heaven on Sunday, May 24th, 2026.

Preceded in death by his parents Lamen and Helen Black, brother William “Bill” Black, son Edward Jr, and his first wife Nancy.

He is survived by his second great love, Lea Hickman, his daughter Natalie Muir and husband Kevin, his grandchildren; Margaret, Patrick, Clare and Catherine, and his step-children Ashley, Brandon, and Lauren.

Born in August of 1947, in Crewe, Virginia, Ed left as a young man building a family and a successful small business with Creative Dental Ceramics and Black Dental Laboratories in the Metro Atlanta Area. Ed met Lea in 2006, and together they moved to Freeport, FL in 2016 to live out their retirement years at the beautiful beaches of the Emerald Coast.

Ed was an Army National Guard veteran, avid Braves and Georgia Bulldogs fan, and loved to tell stories of his time in Big Canoe, GA.

Lea and all of Ed’s family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
