Mr. Edison Wendell Barrett, age 94, passed away February 27, 2026. He was born on August 10, 1931 in New London, Connecticut to Robert Calter Barrett and Dorothy Irene Theroux Barrett.

Mr. Barrett was a resident of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. He was Christian by faith. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son and brother. He was a Merchant Marine for many years, having traveled all over the world. He also worked in construction and he also worked with Fisher Hardware.  He enjoyed wood working, making swings and tables for his family. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a very talented Harmonica player, playing in bands and he also enjoyed singing.

Mr. Barrett was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Calter Barrett and Dorothy Irene Theroux Barrett; sister, Beverly Trotman; his loving wife, Mary Frances Barrett and stepson, James Manning

Mr. Barrett is survived by his stepson, Joseph Evans and wife Dana Kay Evans of Liberty, Florida; his stepdaughters, Jackie Manning Adams and husband Ricky Adams of Paxton, Florida and Janet Evans of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; step grandchildren, Randa Schumacher and husband Greg of Kauai, Hawaii, Magen Adams Moore and husband Garrett of Paxton, Florida, Wesley Evans and wife Catrina of Liberty, Florida; step great grandchildren, Wyatt Evans, Lillian Evans and Bristol Moore; sister, Pat Burkett of North Carolina; brother, Eugene Robert Barrett(Bucky) of North Carolina and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 6, 2026 at Euchee Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
