David J. Reis, age 69, of Sarah Street, Freeport, died May 23rd, 2026 at his home.

Born August 19th, 1956 in Toledo, Ohio to parents Kenton Joseph Reis and Elinor Louise (Larzelere) Reis. He was raised in Sylvania, Ohio and graduated from Sylvania High School in 1974 before joining the United States Air Force and serving for 11 years. Following his service, he attended the University of West Florida and graduated with a degree in Coding and Computer Science. Not one to waste any knowledge, he worked in the Okaloosa School system as an IT specialist where he later met his wife, Marlise (Buxton) Reis. They married in April of 1996 and settled down in Freeport, Florida. He retired in 2021 and entertained his many hobbies and continued to support his family.

He is survived by his wife, Marlise O. (Buxton) Reis, his daughter Abigail Reis, son Ethan Reis, daughter Tsigereda (Vivian) Reis, and son Henry Reis; his mother, Elinor (Larzelere) Reis, brothers Alan Reis, William Reis (wife Sheila), Steven Reis (wife Grace); sisters Cheryl (Reis) Reber (husband Brian), Brenda (Reis) Clawson; and many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

Graveside Service will be held at 2pm on Friday, May 29th at Hatcher Cemetery, located at 2-172 Hatcher Cemetery Rd, Freeport, Florida 32439.

Memorial Service will be held at 11am on Saturday, May 30th at Christ the King Episcopal Church, 480 County Hwy-393 N, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459 with Bishop Steven Miller officiating .
