Obituary

David A. Lytle, age 71, of DeFuniak Springs, Died July 7th 2024, at his home after a short illness.

Born June 14th, 1953 in Chattanooga, TN, the son of Raymond Lytle and Frances Roberts, he grew up and spent most of his working life in Greenbelt Maryland. In 1981 he attained a Master Plumbers license. In 1982 he started his own company "Ray's Chimney Sweep's", and in 1985 he purchased an established chimney sweeping business, "The Artful Dusters", which he ran for over 10 years. David would often arrive to Jobs wearing a full top hat and tails, a long and storied tradition in the industry. His business was featured in Washingtonian magazine, a status which eventually led to him servicing fireplaces in the White House during renovation. David was incredibly generous and kind hearted, adopting the vegetarian lifestyle as far back as 1990, a practice which he continued for the rest of his life. He was an avid sci-fi & astronomy fan, and an early adopter of computer technology, incorporating the first Tandy and x86 platform into his business and for home entertainment.

Surviving is his Son, Raymond Lytle of DeFuniak Springs, FL, Sister Nancy Lytle of Chattanooga, TN, and Brother George Lytle of Sunnyvale California.

Arrangements entrusted to Clary-Glenn Funeral Home & Crematory.
