David Joseph Doring, age 86, left this earth gently, in his sleep to join our Lord on December 23, 2023.

Beloved Husband, Father, Uncle and Friend, David was a loving, generous, caring man who would readily share his time and talent wherever he recognized a need. A devout Catholic, he and his loving wife, Carol, were active members of their church Christ the King, and their community of Freeport, Florida. David graduated Cum Laude from Parks College, University in St. Louis with a degree in Aeronautical/Mechanical Engineering. He was hired by Boeing/Vertal upon graduation. He went on to get his Master's Degree from University of Southern California and worked in Boeing Management until his retirement. David could always be found helping his neighbors. He helped rebuild many car engines and could fix anything he set his mind to. He was an excellent builder who would design and assemble ramps for people with disabilities. He later began doing taxes for AARP to assist those on a modest income. He was an avid fisherman and loved to go fishing with our neighbor, James.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry J and Loretta Doring, sister, Carolyn Joan (Jodie), brother, Paul and his son, Craig.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Carol; son, Chip (Carrie); daughters Mari and AJ (Geoff) and grandchildren, Cassidy, Savanna, Chase and Quinn. We will miss him every day.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Christ the King Catholic Church; 15542 US Highway 331 Business, Freeport, Florida 32439 with Father Longin Buhake officiating.

Burial will be held at Hatcher Cemetery.
