Mrs. Christina Marie Nieves, age 60, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020. She was born July 12, 1960 in West Islip, New York to Anthony James Nieves, Sr. and Hilda Marie Smith Nieves.

Tina was a resident of Choctaw Beach, Florida. She was Catholic by faith. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, and friend. She graduated from Commonwealth High School in Puerto Rico, where she grew up. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse and received a degree from the Art Institute in Houston, Texas. She enjoyed arts and crafts, was a caring person, and was fiercely funny, even in the darkest times. She was great at telling stories. She was a light in any room that she entered. She always told her family to look up into the sky and she would be the second star on the right. A quote from her favorite book, The Little Prince, "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye." She remains with us in all our hearts.

Tina was preceded in death by her husband, Charles David May, Jr.; her father, Anthony James Nieves, Sr.; and her brother, Anthony James Nieves, Jr.

Tina is survived by her mother, Hilda Marie Nieves; her son, Bryan A. Nieves-Bridges; her daughter, Kayla Marie Nieves; her sister, Terry Garcia-Villamil and husband Hector; two grandchildren, Bryan S. Nieves and Saphyra Alicia Nieves; her nephew, Hector Garcia, Jr. and wife Teresa and their children Tico and Leia.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
