Mrs. Ceretha "Sam" Suzanne Phillips, age 64, passed away June 14, 2023.  She was born on November 27, 1958 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida to Clifford Hayes Miller and Olene Garrett.

Mrs. Phillips was a lifelong resident of Walton County, Florida. She was Methodist by faith and a member of Freeport Methodist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, and nanny. She worked as a hairdresser at Olene and Sam's Hair Salon in Freeport, Florida. She was a very talented cook having worked at Freeport Elementary School cafeteria for over 10 years. She dearly loved spending time with her family. She was affectionally know as Nanny and Aunt Sam.

Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her father and mother and sister, Pam Hanks.

Mrs. Phillips is survived by her husband of 36 years, Darren N Phillips of Freeport, Florida, children, Jaime Suzanne Tipton and husband Eric of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, Ryan Neil Phillips and Madison of DeFuniak Springs, Florida and Russell Hayes Phillips and wife Allison of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, grandchildren, Chloe Taylor, Brendon Tipton, Hanah Pifer, Collin Tipton, and Fielden Phillips, soon to be one great grandchild, Jude Pifer, one brother, Greg Miller and wife Lynn of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, and one sister, Lisa Cuchens of Choctaw Beach, Florida. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and family and friends.

A time of visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM, Friday, June 23, 2023 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home; 150 East Highway 20 East, Freeport, Florida 32439.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 23, 2023 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home; with Reverend Joel Glenn officiating.

Flowers are being accepted.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Phillips, Russell Phillips, Eric Tipton, Collin Tipton, Kelly Phillips, Aidan Pifer and Brendon Tipton.

Burial will be held at Hatcher Cemetery.
