Mr. Carvell AJ McMillian, age 81, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare. He was born on November 30, 1941 in DeFuniak Springs to John William and AV Adkison McMillian, of blessed memory.

He was a member and deacon at Riverside Baptist Church and was a self-employed electrician and a hard worker, who loved fishing, gardening, and dining out.

Mr. McMillian is preceded in death by his father and mother; wife, Mary; stepson, Timothy Maxwell; brothers, Thelton Lewis McMillian and Wendell "Jill" McMillian; sisters, Helen Adkison and Bettie Kurtz Bunnell.

He is survived by a stepson, Danny Maxwell; brothers, Bobby McMillian (who passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2023), Quinn McMillian, Lyvonne McMillian and Phil McMillian; sisters, Hattie Chapman and Sandra Harper; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved him dearly; and his long-time companion and friend, Jackie Shumate.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 7, 2023, at Riverside Baptist Church, 1810 Florida Georgia Highway, Havana, Florida 32333. Another memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, 1015 Pleasant Ridge Road, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
