Carl C. Hardin III of Santa Rosa Beach passed away December 7, 2025, at 81 years old. Carl grew up in Tarrytown, Austin, Texas.  He was the son of Carl. C. Hardin Jr. and Amy Jean Stringer Hardin, Austin, Texas. Carl's younger sisters are Lucy Hardin of Plano, Texas; Julie Hardin and Husband Jim Bolen of Austin, Texas; Niece Tracy Moffitt of Plano, Texas; Cousin Rick Hardin and Elizabeth of Austin, Texas.

Many of his days were enjoying Westwood Country Club, water skiing, little league ball, Westenfield Park, and always playing Golf. Carl graduated from Austin High School in class of 1963 and attended the University of Arizona and University of Texas.

In 1972, Carl was elected one of the ten most eligible bachelors in Austin, Texas. He was most known for his 1962 Blue, Super Sports car: drag racing with Dudley Morris. Countless rounds of golf were played at the Austin Municipal Golf Course with his dear friend Mason Adkins.  Carl was a superior athlete; won the Texas Youth Golf Championship, was a fabulous little league pitcher, however Day Trading and Real Estate were his passions.

Carl loved to play cards in Vegas, taking fun trips to Mexico and to the Cadillac Bar; many trips to Italy and Greece, and the Caribbean, where he lived in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, for years.  Sun, sand, and Jimmy Buffet were his cures.  Carl was married two times, claiming he married the two smartest and most beautiful women in the world, though single at the time of his passing.

Over the years his best friends were John Pendleton and Mike Miller, of Austin, Texas, and Richard Stafford of Grayton Beach, Florida.

The family would also like recognize his care giver Nicole Amstutz for her passionate care she gave to Carl for several years.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 12, 2025 at Historic Gulf Cemetery; 1466 S County Hwy 393, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459
