Mr. Carl Thomas Hamilton, Sr., age 72, passed away Friday, August 23, 2019.  He was born July 11, 1947 in Perry, Florida to Jacob and Dorothy Mae Hamilton (née Jackson).

Mr. Hamilton was a resident of Freeport, Florida.  He was Assembly of God by faith.  He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.  He was a veteran of the Armed Forces serving his country in the United States Army.  He was an Electrical Contractor and a Directional Drilling Contractor.  He was very talented in engineering parts for mechanical use.  He thoroughly enjoyed his work.

Mr. Hamilton was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Allen Hamilton; and son, Christopher Brian Hamilton.

Mr. Hamilton is survived by his wife, Genevieve Hamilton of Freeport; sons, Carl Hamilton, Jr. of Destin, Jacob Severs and wife Lea of Panama City, George Mead and wife Lisa of Pensacola, and James Mead of Destin; daughter, Genevieve Scruggs of Ft. Walton Beach; sister, Carol Terry and husband Michael of Panama City; and ten grandchildren.  His faithful Labrador, Gracie, stayed with him to the end.

A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m., on Friday, September 6, 2019 at DeFuniak Springs Assembly of God, with Reverend Tom Birka officiating.
