Mr. Canyon Jay Bacon, age 26, passed away May 2, 2023. He was born on January 13, 1997 at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida to Michael Jay Bacon.

Canyon was a resident of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, moving from Panama City, Florida. He graduated from Mosley High School in 2016. He was currently working as a correctional officer at Walton Correctional Institute. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making everyone laugh. He enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking and grilling out, and gaming with his friends.

Canyon was preceded in death by his grandfather Ted Franey, and his uncle Joseph Ford.

Canyon is survived by his father, Michael Jay Bacon (Becky Miller) of Panama City, Florida; his fiancé, Frankie Maliszewski of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; grandmother Dorothy Franey, grandparents Nicholas and Debra Bacon; his aunt Angela Callaghan; aunt Billie Waddell and uncle Charles Waddell; aunt and uncle Steve and Debbie Ford; his cousins: Christian Waddell, Taylor Waddell, Eli Callaghan and special friends; Cerys Miller; Vaughn Miller; and Dylan Perry.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, May 13, 2023 for immediate family and friends.
