Brent L. Scott, born on March 11, 1962, in Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away on July 5, 2026, in Ponce de Leon, Florida. He was 64 years old at the time of his passing.

Throughout his life, Brent distinguished himself through his entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to his work. He was a successful business owner, operating several ventures across the Florida Panhandle. Notably, Brent owned and managed Carpet Magic Flooring Company in Fort Walton Beach, providing services that left a lasting, positive impact on his community. He also operated Seabreeze Taxi in Destin, ensuring reliable transportation for residents and visitors alike.

Beyond his business pursuits, Brent demonstrated a deep affection for animals and the outdoors. He raised Belgian and Percheron horses, offering carriage rides for Christmas Reflections at Lake DeFuniak as well as for weddings and events throughout the region. Brent found great joy in caring for his horses, particularly Paint horses, which he enjoyed raising and sharing with others.

Brent’s family was central to his life. He is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Jo Scott, his daughter, Desiree Scott, three cherished grandchildren: Reece, Rosie, and Naomi Scott, and siblings: Brian Scott, Jeff (Pat) Scott and April (Jim) Jastrembski. Their love and support were a source of immense pride and happiness for him. Brent was preceded in death by his father, Ross Logan Scott, and his mother, Ruth Kirschmann Scott, whose memories he honored throughout his life.

Brent L. Scott leaves behind a legacy of determination, kindness, and devoted family bonds. His contributions to the business community, his passion for animals, and his commitment to those he loved will be remembered with respect and appreciation by all who knew him.
