Bobby Farrell
Linton
September 30, 1933 – February 8, 2026
Bobby F. Linton (1933-2026) of Choctaw Beach, Florida, passed away on February 8, 2026. He was a devoted husband to Nancy Arlene Linton and a loving father to Greg, Stacey, Troy and Amy.
He was hard-working, steadfast and dedicated. He spent four years in the United States Navy and four years in the Navy Reserve. After graduating from the University of Mississippi in 1959 he married his wife, Arlene, who he often referred to as "his bride" throughout their 66 years together. He went on to serve his country in a civilian capacity for another 41 years.
Though he may not have liked being the center of attention, he deserves to have his long years of dedication to his family and community honored. He was a man of integrity and was always there to lend a helping hand to those around him – whether that was helping to build the community's first volunteer fire department, keeping the church and parsonage in order or cutting down trees after a hurricane. He left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
His hobbies and interests helped define who he was. He was fiercely strong, reliable, and yes, even stubborn. For many years, Saturdays were considered "work days" at the Linton's. With his wife and children by his side, he was forever working to improve the home they built and shared. In the afternoons or on weekends you might find him at the bay casting a net for mullet or at the river fishing. Sundays were reserved for the many, many years of family dinners – Southern Style of course.
He is survived by his wife Arlene; his children Greg (Terry), Stacey (John), Troy (Mickey) and Amy; his grandchildren Shaun, Schyler, Kendra, Seth, Alesha, Kyle, Taylor, Summer, and Grayson; eleven great grandchildren, and his brother Billy (Diane) and two nieces, as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
A private funeral service will be held at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
We find comfort in knowing he had a life well lived, the love of his family, and the memories we will cherish forever.
