Obituary

Bobby Russell Arntz, age 67, of Freeport, FL went to be with our Lord and Savior on October 22, 2021.

Born December 13, 1953 on Eglin Air Force Base to Gordon and Rachel Arntz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his Grandpa Matthew Sweeney, his Uncle Henry and Aunt Ethyl Sweeney, and Brother Matthew 'Littlebit' Arntz. After Bobby's parents died at a young age, he and his siblings were raised in Niceville and Freeport by Henry and Ethyl Sweeney.

Bobby is survived by his son Shaun and wife Lindsey of Niceville; daughter Jackie of Freeport, Grandchildren Spencer Arntz and Jaelyn Hutchings; Sister Rebecca and Brother Billy Ray. Cousins whom he was raised with Carson, Thelma, Etheline Hendal, Becky, Warren, and Wayne 'P-nut' Sweeney. Sister In-law and best friend Joan, Brother In-law Lester Miller; and several nieces and nephews whom he loved unconditionally.

Bobby was an Army veteran and a career paint contractor. Bobby had a passion for sports. He spent many years as a successful dirt track racecar driver. In 1995, he started the Freeport Youth Football league while also coaching little league baseball for several years. Once his coaching days were over, he turned to umpiring baseball games and working the chain crew at Freeport High School football games. Bobby enjoyed playing the guitar and playing poker. In his later years, his great escape was taking trips to Biloxi with his niece Rachel, Sister Rebecca, and brother in-law 'Bud'.

Visitation services will be held from 4 to 5 p.m., Tuesday, November 2 nd , 2021, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home in Freeport with funeral services following at 5pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family wish that contributions are made to the Freeport Youth Football and Cheer Association.
