Benjamin Frank Gavins, Jr., was born on November 28, 1946 to to Minnie Ola and Benjamin F. Gavins, Sr. in Defuniak Springs, Florida.

Benjamin attended Lycee Saint Joseph de Tivoli High School and graduated in 1964. After graduation he joined the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1971. He received the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Presidential Unit Citation Award during his service. He would often recount of his years and would share his knowledge without hesitation.

After his service in the military, Ben was talented in many areas to work. He worked in construction, as well as an interstate trucker. His greatest employment was being a minister. He was filled with the Holy Ghost in 1975 at The Lord's House in St. Petersburg, FL. Under the leadership of the late Overseer Johnnie Lee Williams, was he an ordained Elder and Prophet before beginning his work as Pastor of All Nations Tabernacle of Prayer in Defuniak Springs, Fl. He was also one of the original members of Alpha B'eta Omega Messianic Brotherhood.

Benjamin is survived by his daughter, Sarah Gavins, sister, Cheryl Lynn Blair Gavins (Jim), nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters in Christ and many many friends.

On September 2, 2022, the Lord called him home. Ben will be remembered for his service to this country, his love for Jesus Christ, his passion for the betterment of Walton County and heart towards his family and friends.

A time of visitation will be held from 9:00 – 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; with Pastor Wayne Wells officiating.

Flowers are being accepted.

Burial will follow in the  Magnolia  Cemetery.
