Ms. Barbara Lee Turner, age 80, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026 at home surrounded by family. She was born June 8, 1945 in Lockhart, Alabama to Iley Frederick (Jack) Turner and Marjorie Louise Turner (Golden).
Ms. Turner attended Walton High School and graduated from American High School. She had a distinguished law enforcement career beginning as a Dispatcher for the Fruitland Park Police Department and continuing with the cities of Tavares and Niceville Police Departments, the Walton County Sheriff's Office, and the Florida Highway Patrol. She also became dual certified as a Police Officer and Correctional Officer serving with the DeFuniak Springs Police Department and the Florida Department of Corrections where she achieved the rank of Sergeant.
Ms. Turner was preceded in death by her parents (Jack and Marjorie), her nephew, Ira Ray Turner, Jr., and her great nephew, Camran Turner.
Ms. Turner is survived by her daughter, Bobbie Lee Reyes (Tracy Ellison); her son, Frederick Gene Reyes (Malou Sumalinog); and granddaughter, Alexandra Noel Reyes. She is also survived by her brother, Ira Ray Turner (Mary); her niece, Kimberly Turner; her nephew, Anthony Ray Turner (Veronica); and her great nephews, Nicholas Ray Turner (Summer), Steven Brandon Turner, Anthony Ray Turner Jr., and Zachary Reeves.
Barbara was a lover of all animals, and dogs always made her smile and filled her heart with joy. If you would like to give a gift, donations can be made to the Alaqua Animal Refuge at www.alaqua.org in memory of Barbara and on behalf of Sammy, Barbara's sweet little rescue dog and constant companion.
Visitation will be held 1:00 - 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Joel Glenn officiating.
Burial will be held at Magnolia Cemetery, with Law Enforcement Honors by the Department of Corrections Honor Guard.
