Ms. Barbara Elizabeth Carter, age 78, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2023. She was born on September 18, 1944 in Nassau, Bahamas to Harold Elijah Darville and Miriam Irene Wells Darville.

Ms. Carter was a resident of Red Bay, Florida. She was Methodist by faith and was a member of Red Bay Methodist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked in sales for many years. She also worked in the floral industry having worked with many florists throughout the area. She loved growing flowers. She also owned and operated Carter's Blueberry Patch along with her husband, John Carter.

Ms. Carter was preceded in death by her father and mother; loving husband of 59 years John Carter; two sisters Millie Knowles, Margaret Knowles; and three brothers Conrad Darville, Richard Darville, David Darville.

Ms. Carter is survived by her two children Lisa Henderson and husband David, Marie Howard both of Red Bay, Florida; three grandchildren Kevin Henderson and wife Heather, John Henderson and wife Allie, Fiona Howard; three great-grandchildren Amelia, Collins, Ada; one sister Berdie Maroney and husband Jeff; brothers- and sisters-in-law George and Montez Carter, Sidney and Jeannie Carter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Receiving of friends will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home; 150 East Highway 20, Freeport, Florida 32439.

Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home with Reverend Rodney Infinger and Reverend John Fuller officiating.
