Mrs. Barbara "Cookie" Annette Simmons, age 76, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022.  She was born October 14, 1945 in Walton County, Florida to Mack and Annie Wilson Edwards.

Mrs. Simmons was a lifelong resident of Ponce De Leon, Florida. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She owned and operated her own lawn care business with her husband for over 25 years.

Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by her parents, infant son; Tommie Curtis Simmons, her husband of 64 years, Tommie Simmons, brothers, Dann Edwards and James Edwards, sisters, Vic Heaton, Jessie Pearl "Sis" Edwards, Maggie Day and Merlene Deloch.

Mrs. Simmons is survived by her son, James Travis Simmons and wife Vernita of Westville, Florida; brother, Linard Edwards and wife Sue of Ponce De Leon, Florida; sisters, Jerlene Nelson of Argyle, Florida, Diane Mercer of Grand Ridge, Florida and Margaret Edwards of Ponce De Leon, Florida; grandchildren, Barbara Sue Simmons and husband Kevin Lee Bowers and Stetson Hunter Simmons of Caryville, Florida; and great-grandson Xavier Simmons

A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Mitchell Carroll officiating.

Pallbearers will be Billy Messer, Justin Messer, James Cosson, Ben Cosson, and Lefty McHenry.

Flowers are being accepted.

Burial will follow in the Old Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
