Obituary

Aubrey Lee Mullins went to Heaven on June 19, 2022 with his loving wife Maureen at his side. Aubrey was born in Ravenna, Kentucky on January 15, 1933. While he grew up in Norwood, AL (where he attended Phillips High School) he loved the beach and the water so much that he spent over 52 years of his life in Grayton and Seagrove Beach.

Aubrey (or Al as he was known in the business world) had a passion for his work, which for many years was in the sales of industrial chemicals. He also worked at NASA's Marshall Space Center on the Saturn One project in Huntsville, Hayes Aircraft (Dothan, AL), and Texas Instruments.  He then started his own business, ALM Products. Aubrey served in the US Air Force and the Alabama National Guard, where his last assignment was at Duke Field (Eglin Air Force Base).

Aubrey also like to travel. When his first wife, Mary Evelyn, died after 45 years of marriage, Aubrey and his daughter Lee Michelle traveled together to many places, including Hawaii. It was in Hawaii that Aubrey met Maureen Craig whom he subsequently married.  After spending many wonderful years in Hawaii, he followed his heart and moved back to Seagrove, where he and Maureen got married and built a home where they currently live.

Aubrey's only grandchild came into his life at the Age of 75. Aubrey always felt young Hess Aubrey Lewis was his namesake. Aubrey was a special person to all who knew him as a friend, an uncle, a brother, a brother-in-law, a grandpa, a dad, and a husband. He is preceded in death by his parents Cassandra A. Mullins and Madge Marie Mullins, along with his first wife Mary Evelyn Mullins.  He is survived by his wife Maureen Mullins of Seagrove Beach, her daughter Sarah Smith and husband (Kevin) and granddaughter (Bronte') , France; his daughter Lee Michelle Lewis, her husband (Steve), grandson (Hess) of Houston, Texas and granddaughters Cleo Rash of Porter, Texas and Carlee Lewis who is stationed in Hawaii; his brothers Bill (Greensboro, NC ) and Robert (Hollywood, FL) Mullins; many brothers and sisters' in law (who Aubrey considered his own flesh and blood); and by many nieces and nephews whom he deeply loved.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Regency Hospice Care for their loving care and attention. A celebration of his life will be held on at 5:30 pm on July 29 at a gathering of friends and family at the beach behind Leeward 2 condos to remember this fine man.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Aubrey's favorite charities, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN and 30A Cats-wix.com.
