Obituary

Anna Carmel Sullivan, age 88, passed away on August 16, 2022, in Freeport, FL. She was born on July 17, 1934, in Ardgroom, County Cork, Ireland to Patrick and Ellen Lynch.

Anna was the second youngest of fourteen children. She grew up on the southern coast of Ireland and immigrated to the United States in 1953 when she was 19, joining many of her siblings who were already there. She married Andrew Sullivan on September 27th, 1958 at The Church of St Thomas Aquinas in Bronx, NY. She lived in Brooklyn with her husband and children for the next 13 years. In 1970 their 6-year-old son Raymond passed away from a heart condition. A year later, Anna moved back to Ireland with her husband and children on June 27th, 1972. They lived in Muleens, Eyeries for three years. In 1975 Anna and her family returned to the United States where she and Andrew raised their children. She worked for many years as a Nurses Aide in Derby Nursing Home. Anna resided in Shelton for more than 25 years. In September 2003 Anna and her husband decided to move to Sunny Florida, Santa Rosa Beach. Following some of her children.  She loved it in Florida especially when she knew her whole family was considering the move. She was happiest when her family was all around her, they were her pride and joy.

Anna is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Andrew Sullivan, and son Raymond Sullivan (1970).  Her parents, Patrick and Ellen Lynch; brothers, Michael Lynch, Jim Lynch, Tim Lynch, Jerry Lynch, Denny Lynch, John Lynch, and Patrick Lynch; sisters, Sister Ellen Patrice, Sister Mary Rosarie, Helen Callahan, and Agnes Buckley; and many other Brothers-in-law and Sisters-in-law.

Anna was survived by her sisters Vera Collins and Shelia Lynch; son, Gerard Sullivan and his wife Darlena; daughters, Mary Sullivan, Elizabeth Bogucki and her husband David, Annamarie Moon, Julie Blamasah and her husband Sawie; grandchildren, Valerie Hamon and her husband Jason, John Bogucki, Owen Sullivan, Shailagh Moon, Sarah, and Abby Blamasah; great-grandchildren, Riley, Aiden, and Lucas Hamon.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Oct 2, 2022, at 12:30 at Vision Church/CI, in Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Williams Syndrome Association, website williams-syndrome.org .
