Angela M. Seymour, age 83, of Playa Del Rey, California, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026, surrounded by family and friends. Those gathered sang hymns at her bedside, lovingly holding her hands and praying for her peaceful passage.

Angela was born on October 24, 1942, in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, to Harry Seymour and Irene Ferruggia. Angela is survived by her sister Lynda Seymour; Stephan Seymour; step siblings William Luckow and Laura Warren; half-sister Donna Seymour; stepchildren Lisa Edwards and Dillon Spargur. She also, had family in Texas and North Georgia.

Angela’s beloved Salty Sisters; her UP Church family; her Delta Air Lines family; her godchildren; and the many people whose lives she touched with kindness, laughter, and support. She grew up surrounded by a warm family and a remarkable circle of friends. Her “Salty Sisters” from kindergarten, elementary, and high school remained by her side throughout her life and gathered regularly for 70+ years of fun and togetherness. Angela Seymour and Bill Spargur married in 1984. Although they did not have children of their own, Angela was a caring stepmother and exceptional auntie and godmother to many. She kept track of everyone in her orbit, sending thoughtful cards and perfectly chosen gifts. Her smile, laughter, and positivity were contagious.

Angela attended Florida State University, where she was a member of the Phi Mu sorority and performed with FSU’s Flying High Circus, doing trapeze and riding on a bicyclist’s shoulders across a high wire. She studied mathematics, and upon graduating became one of the first women computer programmers, a true trailblazer. She eventually made her way west to Los Angeles, where she built a long and beloved career with Delta Air Lines - 52 years in total, many of them with perfect attendance. She started in computer programming and later became a “Red Coat,” managing check-in and gate attendants. Angela loved the energy of the airport and the chance to have a positive presence on a stressful day. In her final days colleagues came from near and far to share stories of her warmth and positive energy.

It was at the airport that Angela met Rev. Dr. Della Reese Lett, founder of UP Church. Rev. Della called Angela her “Airport Angel,” a moniker that stuck as Angela helped Rev. Della get where she was going, especially during the busy years of filming Touched by an Angel. Angela was deeply active in UP Church and in her faith more broadly, driving friends and elderly neighbors to church and appointments, giving her time generously. In her personal life, Angela was always growing. She was a certified emergency medical technician, an ordained minister, and volunteered in the UCLA emergency room for 25+ years. She practiced tai chi, spoke French, and loved everything Wonder Woman.

She will be laid to rest next to her father in DeFuniak Springs, Florida.

Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 24, 2026 at Saint Agatha's Episcopal Church at 144 Circle Drive, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
