Andrew Mcalpin
Dearing, Sr.
October 24, 1961 – February 14, 2023
We write with tears in our eyes and heavy hearts, that our friend and father Andrew McAlpin Dearing, Sr. passed away on the 14th of February 2023.
Andrew was born on October 24, 1961, in Coral Gables, Florida. The youngest son to Daniel and Betty Dearing. He did his formative growing years in Tallahassee where he was the kicker of the Leon football team. Soon after graduating high school, he would follow in the footsteps of his father and brothers and enlist in the United States Marine Corps. Proudly doing tours in such places as northern Africa, he would exit the military after 4 years with an honorable discharge. He moved around much after leaving the military, but ultimately settled down in the Florida panhandle where he would live the rest of his days. This is where while working he met his future wife and mother of his children Melissa, with whom he would have 3 children. For work, he'd wait tables always showing up early to do the little extra that was needed without anyone asking. In the summer of 2006, with the support of his loving family, he was able to obtain his real estate license. Always on the verge of the big sale, he'd keep waiting tables at such places as the Red Bar and Great Southern and about everywhere in between. While he wasn't at the office or waiting tables, you'd often find him carving up fairways on the course with his always reliable playing partner, Richard, who was always there to play with his den. The passion he had for golf he tried passing on to his kids and his grandson.
In his later days, you often find him in the place he found the most joy, playing his guitar outside with his grandson and best friend Richard, with food on his grill and good music playing in his man cave.
He is survived by his three children, Drew, Farrah, and Dallas; and his three grandchildren Richard, Parker (Farrah), and Nadia (Dallas).
The celebration of life will be held at Grayton Beach access 31 behind Red Bar 288 Garfield Street and 199 Banfill Street, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida 32459 on the 26th of February 2023 from 4 pm to 7 pm with military honors by the United States Marine Corps.
