Africa (Tamayo-Rosales) Tejeda, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully in Freeport, Florida on April 4, 2025 at the age of 87. Born on November 16, 1937 in Maffo, Cuba to Jose Tamayo and Eloisa Rosales.

Africa was a nurse by profession in her home county of Cuba and found her niche working with the disabled when she immigrated to America in 1969. Africa spent her entire career caring for developmentally disabled populations.

Africa found much joy in tending to her roses and plants. Africa was empathetic to the needs of those she cared for and will be greatly missed by those that knew her. Africa is survived by her husband, son, daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren, who will never forget the love she brought into their lives.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
