Mr. Morgan Millard Moseley, age 91, passed away Monday, February 25, 2013. He was born November 16, 1921 in Letohalatchie, Alabama to Homer and Ida Whigham Moseley.
Mr. Moseley was a resident of DeFuniak Springs since 1960. He was Church of Christ by faith and a member of Liberty Church of Christ. He enjoyed leading singing for many church events. He was a veteran of WWII, serving his country in the United States Navy as a 1st Class Petty Officer. He was one of 317 survivors of the sinking of the USS Indianapolis, having stayed afloat for four and a half days in the Philippine Sea. He worked for over 38 years with CSX and L&N Rail Road. He also worked as a farmer in his early years.
Mr. Moseley is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife Joy Moseley and four sisters Vera, Alma, Nora and Luna and two brothers Newton and H.T.
Mr. Moseley is survived by his four daughters Janna McBroom and husband Danny of Glendale, Zanda Brock of DeFuniak Springs, Tanya Durham and husband Joe of Blountstown and Landa Moseley of DeFuniak Springs; one sister Ellen Phillips of Pensacola; three grandchildren Bart McBroom, Mindi Reed and husband Jonathan and Kelby Lynn Durhan and one great granddaughter Raleigh Reed.
Family will be receiving friends from 9:00~10:00 AM, Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
Memorial services will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, with Minister Billy McKee officiating, with Military Honors.
