Our History

Clary-Glenn Funeral Home was established in 1931 as Page Funeral Home under the ownership of John Page and was operated under the direction of himself and his family until 1952. At that time it was purchased by Randolph Clary and he operated the funeral home and an ambulance service that served Walton and the surrounding counties. Mr. Clary discontinued the ambulance service on June 30, 1966 but continued to operate the funeral home with the assistance of Jerry Godwin, who later joined in partnership with Mr. Clary. In 1982, the funeral home became Clary-Godwin Funeral Home under the direction of Jerry Godwin.

In 1997 Joel Glenn began to manage the funeral home as a Licensed Funeral Director in charge. In June 2002 Comander Funeral Home was combined with Clary-Godwin and the new name became Clary-Godwin/ Comander Funeral Home. Clary-Godwin/Comander Funeral Home is the longest established Funeral Home in the county. In January 2004 Joel Glenn purchased Clary-Godwin/Comander Funeral Home and is now Clary-Glenn Funeral Home family owned and operated. Joel Glenn founded Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home in Freeport, Florida in April 2000 which providing a convenient location for the families in the Freeport, Bruce, Portland and South Walton communities.
